Are You Comparing Yourself to Others?
When you go through your day at work or performing errands, how many times do you compare yourself to others? Sometimes you may not even know that you have been doing this. Comparing yourself to others creates feelings of judging another person and feelings of unworthiness and in the Law of Attraction we know that you will emit the vibrations that will come flying back to you.
Let’s take a look at some examples: You go to work and you find out that you and another co-worker are going to be working on the same job, each of you providing fifty percent of the work. As you both are working on the project, you find yourself comparing your work to his and his work seems to be better. You begin to judge your own self and feel as if you aren’t good enough. This provides the Universe ample thoughts and feelings to repeat this process in your life when you begin dwelling on this particular situation.
Now let’s flip the situation around and you see that your work seems to be better. You see the boss thinking your work is great while your co-worker won’t be getting the accolades that you will. You’re relieved that your work is so much better than your co-worker’s. You are gloating and you offer no help to your co-worker so that your project together looks great. Hmmm…this scenario produces judgments as well and shows that you think you are the best by comparing yourself to another’s work. All that gloating will bring you someone that will be gloating over you somehow because gloating is a negative emotion.
So what’s the answer here? Do you never look at another’s work or life and compare yourself to them? That isn’t possible. What is possible is ‘how’ you compare yourself to others around you. In the above scenarios there are a couple of thoughts that you should look at that will help you emit wonderful thoughts and feelings and keep you from getting judged or gloated upon. See your work or your creation for what it is when you see another’s work or life. If you want to attain to what that other person is doing, see it as you doing just that. If you think that your work isn’t what it should be ask your co-worker for some tips if you really admire their work. Move out of an unworthy position into a positive position for yourself.
The second scenario should be that you are proud of your work but not compare it to someone else’s work. They may think that their work is wonderful and for all you know so will the boss. If your co-worker asks you for some help be glad to give it to him because it is your project AND his project. If he is unwilling to see any problem with his work, you want to allow him to be who he is and let him create. Your work will show up as it should and you will get the credit for your work. You don’t need to be your co-worker’s mentor if he doesn’t want the help. Be proud of your work but proud that doesn’t involve boasting and gloating. This will bring you a chaotic mess of situations.
There really is nothing wrong with looking at someone else and seeing what it is that you ‘want’ or ‘don’t want’ in their creations but their creations are just as important as yours. Give them kudos for creating their life because when it comes down to it we are all the same within.
